Hawaiian Fiesta

On today at Splashmin’s

Aloha, party people. It’s Arrival Day weekend and the next culture to arrive in this our lovely native land will be the Hawaiians. Well, not really, but Splashmin’s will be hosting their second Hawaiian Style Festival today, beginning from noon.

In what is sure to be this weekend’s coolest event, the Fun Park and Resort is featuring almost everything imaginable with Hawaiian food and drinks on sale; a limbo competition and some hot Hawaiian dancing to be done by the X-Factor Dance Group.

To keep things a little varied however, there’s going to be some Latin Dancing performed by the Brian Nobriega Dance Group.

Tickets for the event cost a mere $600, just $100 more than the usual cover price at the gate. ‘Weekend Confidential’ will be there but only if we get to see Shelliza shaking her thing in a grass skirt. That would be way out 'Ahiu and hewahewa.

Go out and enjoy yourself today; head out to Splashmin’s on the Soesdyke Highway.

We missed out on bringing you the special Chinese Spring Festival Buffet at Oasis Café last week, although we didn’t miss out on eating it ourselves, and for that our most heart-felt apologies. Today, the coolest spot on Carmichael Street will be departing a bit from the norm again when it replaces the usual lunch buffet with…pizza!. Come down to Oasis and enjoy that scrumptious Italian miracle, done the right way, not with two scraping of cheese, some sliced tin sausages and a rotten tomato like you would find around the place. Additionally, Oasis remains the top spot for some of the best coffee in Georgetown city. Tonight is also Games Night which means patrons can come in and take their pick of several games – cards, Scrabble, et cetera – to play. Games Night again on Saturday and a return to the regular menu. Check out the Oasis girl who’s more addictive than coffee, in this week’s WC Profile.
