It's already on the airwaves! And 17-year-old Timeka Marshall is working towards the formal release of her first single.
After waiting almost a year to start her album, Timeka is soon to release her single "We Should Separate".
Already, the catchy tune and Timeka's bell-like voice has been grabbing attention on 98.1 FM: "Now we're having arguments//It's like maybe we can't commit//We don't even talk anymore on the phone//Maybe we should separate."
Timeka became very popular when she won the GT&T Cellink jingle competition one year ago and it proved to be her springboard to launching herself as a model and singer. Timeka had told The Scene in April that it was that competition that gave her the confidence and motivation to show off her talent.
In a recent interview she said "We Should Separate" is an R&B song which speaks about a couple having relationship problems, and constantly arguing.
The University of Guyana student said she was inspired to write the song after listening to Neo's "Sick, so sick".
Timeka is preparing for the song's grand launch, which will be sponsored by GT&T. She said the company is supporting her every step of the way.
"We should separate" was produced in the studios of Kingdom Friends, it will be launched with two versions and a music video. Timeka also said she is working on shipping her single out to the Caribbean and North America.
