Guyanese designers Roger Gary and Michele Cole surely gave buyers around the world quite an eyeful of some of their catchy collections at the Barbados’ recently concluded second annual showing of the region’s ready-to-wear spring/summer collections.
And thanks to Managing Director Malcolm Smith, Cave Shepherd — one of the Island’s largest retain stores —will extend the viewing of these collections to give the designers an opportunity to exhibit further, and sell their creations in the department chain.
Gary’s consistent edgy creativity adds to the beauty and femininity of a woman’s body. And his Aqua Couture swimwear collection in exotic colorful splendor, earth browns and white was no different. It aroused the audience at the opening of five days of runway shows.
The Cole Facts of designer Michele Cole’s collection were all in her hip-hop sports line, in vibrant hues. She also dressed it up with rainbow tights and flirty wristbands. Cole used her active lifestyle as the backdrop to saturate the runway with workout, and swimwear pieces. Her love of natural fabrics readied parts of the collection she said, for the cricket World Cup scheduled for Guyana next year.http://www.caribimpact.net/
