Guyanese are doing lots of work musically around the globe and quite a few of them are on the internet as well one such artist is C-Flamez.
Music fans can listen to C-Flamez's tune "Wid Jah Alone" on music.download.com /cflamez/, www.isound.com/music/c_flamez/, www.soundclick.com/c-flamez or www.myspace.com/cflamez. These websites all offer free music to listen to or download. Flamez told the Scene via e-mail, "It is my gift to the people."
The artist originally from West Bank Demerara is described as a singer who "makes reggae with deep inflections of smooth jazz and R&B. Featuring wedding-shiny sax riffs and backup choruses to island rhythms, he deepens the reggae sound without ever losing the basic thread."
The Providence, Rhode Island resident said he migrated in the 1990's to Jamaica when he was 13 years old. There, he experienced reggae music first hand. He said this allowed him to also gain an appreciation for production.
While in Jamaica Flamez pursued his technical job security path before migrating to the US in 2001.
"I always wanted to express myself musically but thought I would at a later time in life," Flamez says about himself.
One thing led to another and in mid 2005 while accompanying 'Rasroots Di Foundation' another artist to the studio, he was inspired. "I decided the time to develop my musical ability"
He is now working on his debut album and continues to trod with Jah alone.
