2nd Annual Bridgetown Film Festival

The second annual Bridgetown Film Festival will kick off next weekend and feature the premiere of two full length films.

The second annual Bridgetown Film Festival will commemnce with a screening in the City before launching into a full week of screenings and workshops.

The festival, started by the Film Group last year, will also host the première of two feature-length films Earl Maynard's “Flight Of The Mongoose” and Bongo Light's “Tek Dem Out.”

“Flight Of The Mongoose,” directed by Maynard, shot in Barbados and features a Canadian and Bajan cast, will première on May 10th , while “Tek Dem Out,” written and directed by Bongo Lights, will be screened on May 12th .

Also making festival debuts will be two Barbadian shorts: “The Shoe” by the Film Group and “La Dia'Blesse” by Shamkoe Pilé on May 11th .

Meantime speakers at the festival will include Kaywanah Springer-Martin, Christopher Birch, Donna Gelphi of World Intellectual Property Organisation, Toronto Film Festival international programmer Cameron Bailey, Mitzi Allen of HAMA Productions in Antigua, and music video producer Little X.

The second annual Bridgetown Film Festival will take place from May 6th to 14th, 2006.
