Remembering by James C. Richmond

REMEMBERING

I rise like a sunrise

May think in a sunset

With candles and dim lights

Stirring the mind, the soul on a fireless flight

Seeking to find the forgotten.

Of pearls, or gold or diamond

My edifice, my chocolate and wine

Until the end of time.

Everything I see! hearing nothing

In a trance, like a mad dance

Wish to rewrite the sentence

ecstatically.

Awake to the sound

Awake to the beat of the drum

A steady rhythm.

Like Kaietuer bursting through the gorge of life

Like exultation, extorting light

Caressing, kissing with a singular sentence impregnating the mind.

Like soul revival

Like reverence.

Like Niagara - yes, Niagara penetrating depths

Gentle touch enfolding

Plucking the rose in an ecstatic dance

Like Angel Falls imposing heights, resplendent in its corrugative motion

To bring that satisfying ooh! Spoken word out of the bosom to the stage.

In mesmerizing ways

Like Life! like life itself, Alleluia

Like Alleluia!

Like massage, deep and gentle

Like ordination and meditation and revelation

Yes like revelation!

There time began and end and began again and live

Like sex, no!!! - just like good sex

Like nights and days

Rapt in one, inseparable.

Better than dreams of love

Better than everything possible.

I rise like a sunrise

May think in a sunset

With candles and dim lights

Stirring the mind, the soul on a fireless flight

Seeking to find the forgotten.

Awake to the sound

The drumbeat!

Existence in a standstill

In a daze

Feeling truth, living truth

Remembering, remembering, just remembering.
