CASTING SAD TALES

CASTING SAD TALES

Do you wish on falling stars?

My answer speaks

The star that falls

Never dies

We do

The star reflects our dreams, our aspirations

The depths of our longings

And stares back at us

The people’s need rapt-up inside

Casting sad tales across the sky

I recognized that star – a star sublime

Bright like the moon, now on decline

Where unity is lost

The star’s reflecting light darkens

And disunity is written

Sorrowing souls with impeded dreams

Awake to the morn and the political night

Crying them-selves to sleep

In the midst of the midnight

Do you wish on falling stars?

Your answer speaks

Where unity is reborn

Casting sad tales away

To birth a brighter new day.
