Guyana's international recording group First Born has a packed schedule in 2006 which will begin shortly.
On February 24 the sons of the soil will launch their new album at the Mingles Club in Main Street.
This will be followed by a tour of the USA that will see First Born doing more that 25 shows.
'Irits' is the fifth album to be recorded by the five-member group.
'Irits', which includes 15 songs, is under the Vizion Sounds label and was produced by Walter `Wally' Fraser. Fraser told The Scene that already the album is going like "hot cakes"; already sold out at Matts Record Bar. The album was recorded in Jamaica and pressed in London.
"This [the album] is something real good. They are putting Guyana on the musical map of the world. First Born has a far way to go. They have top notch music," Fraser said.
All of the songs on the 'Irits' album were written by First Born and Fraser. This year, First Born also plans a tour of Canada. "They will be doing big things this year. Watch out for them," Fraser advised.
